Why ethics is important

A lot of things are important to a business: good management, smart marketing, desirable products, profitability, efficiency, ROI, and ethics. Most people know a lot about many of the aforementioned items, but little about ethics. Yet, everyone agrees that ethics is very important. Why then is there so little knowledge about something that is so important?

Perhaps it is because we avoid those topics that are fundamental to human nature. We avoid talking about and teaching the most important things like sex, death, and ethics.

Ethics is important because, at the core, it is about how we view ourselves and our relationship to others. That is a conversation worth having, worth learning about, and worth teaching to others.
